Former Juventus Goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny Joins Barcelona As Marc Andre Ter Stegen Replacement

Barcelona have completed the signing of former Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny as a replacement for the injured German Marc Andre Ter Stegen. Medicals have been booked for the experienced goalkeeper.

The Polish hung his boot after seven years at Juventus, but he is coming out of retirement to play for Barcelona on a one-year contract.

Before Barcelona completed the deal to sign Szczesny, he told SPORT about Barcelona’s attempt to sign him, saying, “I greatly respect the history of Barça; it is one of the best clubs in the world.”

“I understand the difficult situation that has arisen after Marc-André ter Stegen’s injury and I think it would be disrespectful on my part not to consider this option.”

He is expected to make his debut for the Barcelona team when they play against Osasuna in the Spanish La Liga  on Saturday, September 28.
