The 24-year-old said: “It breaks my heart to see my people and my land, Valencia, devastated by the floods,” he began.

“I know it’s no consolation, but I want to send all my strength and support to the victims and their families from here. Stay strong, Valencia!”

Based on information from Aemet, about a hundred lives have been lost – 92 people in the province of Valencia, 2 in Castilla-La Mancha, and 1 in Málaga.

The DANA storm disaster, which has been tagged as the worst of the 21st century has also left many missing across Spain.
