Former Real Madrid star Fernando Gago has reportedly ended his marriage with Gisela Dulko, a retired Argentine tennis player whom he had been married to since 2011.
According to reports in Argentina, Gago and Gisela Dulko decided to split after the 36-year-old Tennis star caught her 35-year-old husband cheating on her with her best friend.
The incident allegedly happened at the couple’s matrimonial home. Reports claimed that Dulko was away when Fernando Gago brought in her best friend to their matrimonial bed.
They were having a romantic time together when the former tennis star opened the door and caught them red-handed.
The said woman with whom Fernando Gago had a romantic time was identified as Veronica Laffitte, a dance school owner.
At the time of publishing this report, there was no official statement from Fernando Gago nor his estranged wife. A check on their social media platforms showed that they have not been active in recent times.
While analyzing the cheating scandal on an Argentine TV, a journalist from Argentina, Cinthia Fernandez said: “Gisela apparently found them in her own home, in her own bed.
“She opened the door and there was Fernando Gago with this other woman…
“They got married ten years ago and have three children. They always kept a low profile.
“They separated because of his unfaithfulness. He cheated on her with her best friend.
“That group of friends were mums at their kids’ school. Gisela has changed them to a different school.”
Before this cheating scandal became public in September 2021, Fernando Gago who came to the limelight alongside Lionel Messi and Sergio Aguero during the 2005 FIFA World Youth Championship in the Netherlands, had retired from football in November 2020.
He decided to leave the sport due to injury issues. Afterward, the retired Argentine football star took up a coaching job at an Argentine club, Club Atletico Aldosivi, but was sacked less than a season later due to a poor run of games.
Before all these misfortunes, Gago had played for top clubs like Real Madrid, AS Roma, Valencia, and Boca Juniors.
