Fenerbahce finally fell with a home defeat against Trabzonspor on Saturday, November 4, 2023 after a 19-match winning run.

The Turkish giants kept up with an incredible winning run across all competitions before falling like elephants to Trabzonspor.

It was a defeat very unlikely as they came up at home against a team with average performance in the Turkish league so far this season.

Fenerbahce got off to a bleak start in front of their home fans as they conceded just 10 minutes into the game with Paul Onuachu’s opener.

Despite trailing by a lone goal, the game was posied to head Trabzonspor’s way as the away side put up a more determined and resilient display to contain the hosts.

Minutes after taking the lead, Trabzonspor put the game beyond the Turkish League title hopefuls with a quick-fire double to make it 3-0 thanks to goals from Berat Ozdemir and Nicolas Pepe – former Arsenal player.

After trailing by three unreplied goals, Tadic rose to the occasion for the home side, striking twice from the penalty spot to restore comeback hopes.

After Tadic’s brace, Fenerbahce made concerted effort to even the scores but Trabzonspor held on to secure a 3-2 victory after the final whistle.

The win sees Trabzonspor climb to the 4th spot on the table while Fenerbahce fall by a point behind league leaders Galatasaray who have racked up 31 points from 11 games.

Fenerbahce still remains unbeaten in Europe with a perfect record and will be involved in a Europa League clash against Ludogorets in midweek.
