Fans have lambasted Antony Matheus after the Brazilian got a massive tattoo of himself celebrating scoring for Ajax on his back.

The 24-year-old, who is yet to deliver as expected at Manchester United was seen in a series of pictures on Instagram being inked by tattoo artist Bruno Lopes.

The image inked on Antony’s back was of him celebrating after netting a late winner for former club Ajax in their 3-2 Eredivisie victory over Feyenoord in March 2022.

Antony Matheus scored the match-winning goal in the 86th minute to hand Ajax a statement win over rivals Feyenoord.

That goal proved vital for the Dutch giants, who were at the time managed by current Manchester United gaffer Erik Ten Hag, as it aided them in their battle for the Eredivisie.

Ajax ended the season with 83 points, 2 points better than 2nd-placed PSV Eindhoven, who concluded the campaign with 81 points.

    Antony Matheus At Manchester United

Antony joined Manchester United from Ajax in the summer of 2023 for a fee of £85.5 million.

He started his time in England on a bright note but subsequently derailed drastically due to off-field allegations.

Antony Matheus has scored just 11 goals and provided 5 assists in 82 appearances for Manchester United, with fans calling for him to up the ante.

Antony was seen throwing tantrums against Liverpool and he also put up a petulant display after being switched to left-back in the defeat to Arsenal on Sunday, May 12, 2024.

The attacker was also bashed for taunting players of Championship side Coventry City after Manchester United defeated them 4-2 on penalties to book their place in the FA Cup final.

Erik Ten Hag’s side will face Manchester City in the FA Cup final, which has been slated for May 25, 2024.

    Manchester United

The Red Devils have endured a torrid campaign, as they occupy the 8th spot on the Premier League table, with 57 points from 37 matches.

The English giants are in line for their worst Premier League finish, with the team facing the danger of missing out on European football next term.

Manchester United have lost 19 matches in all competitions this campaign, their highest number of defeats since the 1978/79 season.

Anyway, they returned to winning ways against Newcastle United on May 15, 2024, with the Red Devils picking up a hard-fought 3-2 win at Old Trafford.

Kobbie Mainoo scored the opener for the Red Devils in the 31st minute, before Anthony Gordon equalized for Newcastle United 4 minutes after the restart of action in the second 45 minute.

Amad Diallo and Rasmus Hojlund put Manchester United 3-1 up at Old Trafford, however, a scorching strike from Lewis Hall in the 2nd minute of added time in the second period, gave them a minor scare late on in the game.
