Benik Afobe has revealed that a £400,000 worth of jewellery had been stolen from his mother’s house.

Afobe, who previously played for Wolves, Bournemouth, Stoke and Millwall, confirmed that the incident took place on Wednesday, 15 June, 2023, in Elstree, Hertfordshire.

The 30-year-old who now plies his trade in United Arab Emirates, posted about the incident on his personal social media account.

However, the Hertfordshire Police confirmed it was “investigating a report that several items of jewellery were stolen”.

They also revealed that it took place in Elstree and said inquiries were “continuing at this time”.

Benik Afobe started his professional career at Arsenal and then went on loan in different clubs including Huddersfield, Bolton and MK Dons, before joining Wolves.

The striker also represented England at youth levels, including under-21s, but played internationally for DR Congo.

Benik Tunani Afobe is a footballer who was born on 12 February, 1993 and plays as a striker for Hatta.

Afobe was born in England, but represented the DR Congo national team on six occasions between 2017 and 2018.

The striker signed a professional contract with Arsenal in February 2010, and was loaned to various clubs including Huddersfield Town, Reading, Bolton Wanderers, Millwall, Sheffield Wednesday and Milton Keynes Dons.

After several loan spells, he subsequently signed for Wolverhampton Wanderers in January 2015.

After playing for a year, he signed for Bournemouth for £10 million.

He also spent a season there, and later returned on loan to former club Wolves the following season where he secured a £10 million transfer back to Molineux.

Afobe joined Stoke City initially on loan before a permanent switch in January 2019.

Banik Afobe joined UAE First Division League club Hatta on a free transfer on 9 January, 2023.

He opened the scoring in 3–1 victory against Dubai City F.C. on his debut for the club.

Afobe was part of the England squad that won the 2010 UEFA European Under-17 Championship in May 2010.

Personal life

The Stiker hails from DR Congo and he is married to Lois whom he has two daughters with and is a Christian.

Banik Afobe had a daughter named Amora, who died in November 2019 at the young age of two.

Amora died in an hospital after suffering from an unexpected sepsis.

Banik Afobe also has another daughter, named Alba who at the time of her older sister’s death was only one year old.
