Everton is investigating the homophobic chanting against Chelsea fans during their win over the Blues at Goodison Park

The investigation is going on about the homophobic chants allegation, at Goodison Park during Everton against Chelsea on Saturday. Everton is currently investigating the homophobic chanting against Chelsea fans.

Everton reveals that they are investigating likely homophobic chants reported during their 3-1 Premier League win over the Blues. The chant which might have led to Chelsea’s loss through the frustration of both the fans and the team.

Everton in conjunction with Kick It Out got reports that chants were heard during the match at Goodison Park.

So, both the club and Kick It Out are working with police after receiving reports of a chant. But, aiming at Chelsea fans by a small area of the home crowd.

“Homophobia has no place within our stadium, our club, our community or our game. The club strongly condemns such behaviour and is carrying out a thorough investigation. Which will include liaison with Merseyside Police.” says Everton.

Also, the London club got a similar chanting during their 1-0 loss to West Ham United. Now, it has become the second week in a row Chelsea fans are suffering homophobic chants.

Following this, supporters of both clubs revealed discriminating abuse during their shocking home defeat to the Hammers.

So, Westham’s LGBT fans group Pride of Irons, Chelsea Supporters Trust, and the Chelsea Pride spoke to condemn the chant. Kick it Out regards it as homophobic, and the investigation is actively going on.

Though, the blues have lost their two Saturdays matches successively to homophobic chants. But, did they lose due to their inactiveness, or the reaction from the fans? These are questions around Chelsea’s weekend losses to the Hammers and the Toffees.
