Erik ten Hag Suffers Another Injury Blow As Sofyan Amrabat Is Ruled Out Of Brighton Clash

Erik ten Hag have suffered several injury blows in the last weeks and now Amrabat has joined the sidelines when he’s needed the most.

Sofyan Amrabat made a deadline-day switch from Fiorentina but pulled out of the Morocco squad due to an injury last week.

The Red Devils were well aware of his slight injury at his back but still allowed him to join up with his national side.

Amrabat, 27, did not feature in the Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Liberia and the friendly with Burkina Faso as a precaution as required by Erik ten Hag.

And the former Fiorentina player is set to also miss the Premier League match-up against Brighton on Saturday afternoon.

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag expects the midfielder to be back and fit as soon as possible for the club.

Speaking to United’s official website, the manager said: “Amrabat, he came back unfortunately with the injury, so he will not be available for tomorrow [Saturday], but I think, on the short notice [soon], yes.”

Amrabat is not the only Manchester United player who is injured, others like Mason Mount, Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw, and Tyrell Malacia are on the sidelines.

Erik ten Hag also has Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof who came off with a foot problem in the 3-1 loss against Arsenal.

Summer signing Mason Mount is suffering from a hamstring problem, Kobbie Mainoo is also suffering from an ankle injury.

Raphael Varane and Luke Shaw are also on the sidelines with Varane said to miss a few weeks and Shaw out with a muscle injury.

The players are sidelined with injuries and will not feature in the Saturday afternoon match-up against in-form Brighton.

Erik ten Hag will also miss players like Antony – who is currently spending time away from the club while he addresses allegations of domestic abuse.

Recall we reported that despite the allegations, the Brazilian has denied any wrongdoing and has not been arrested or charged.

The player who would’ve replaced Antony, Sancho, has been exiled from the team after he slammed Erik ten Hag publicly.

Onana; Wan-Bissaka, Lindelof, Martinez, Dalot; Casemiro, Eriksen; Garnacho, Fernandes, Rashford; Hojlund.
