Two times Champions League winners, Chelsea are ready to make a move to sign Manchester City’s winger Raheem Sterling in the next transfer window.
The Englishman continues to enjoy his stay at Man City under Pep Guardiola as he scored 17 goals and made 9 assists in 47 appearances last season. Raheem Sterling is also the top ten of Manchester City’s all-time leading scorers.
The winger’s magnificent 20-yard curling strike against Sporting in the first leg of their lasted seasons Champions League last 16 encounter was his 127th goal for the club since signing in July 2015, putting him ahead of Alec Herd in the standings. Sterling’s significant achievement came in his 323rd appearance for City, and it was also his 150th goal for the club.
However, the blue side of Manchester has more options in the forward area after the addition of Erling Haaland. But they could also lose Gabriel Jesus who is getting offers from Arsenal, Chelsea, and other teams abroad. Sterling makes roughly 300,000 pounds per week as a result of the contract he signed in 2019 (around 360,000 euros).
This works out to 1.2 million pounds per month or 1.44 million euros per month. Many reports have it that Raheem Sterling wants to leave Man City and the billionaires club is ready to let him go even if the offer is below his market value which is around £76.5m.
It is also believed that Sterling doesn’t want to play for another English team as he’s getting offers from other European teams like Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Manchester City are still not interested in selling him to a team in the Premier League but Chelsea want the winger on their team next season. The offer they are ready to make will keep them in a better position to land Sterling when the summer transfer window opens. Raheem Sterling will help the Chelsea forward area as Lukaku prepares to leave the Blues.
He is already familiar with the style of the English Premier League and fitting into the Chelsea team won’t be a big deal for him. The club is willing to let their current striker, Romelu Lukaku leave after just one season at the club.
Lukaku is ready to go back to Inter Milan and replacing him means getting a new top striker. That is why Raheem Sterling is among the options on their list as he has scored double-figure goals in his past 5 EPL seasons.
