New Chelsea manager Enzo Maresca has completed his first signing as Chelsea manager.

The Italian is set for the new challenge in the Blues’ dugout and has been tipped to return to the club to the top level after back-to-back disappointing campaigns in the English top-flight.

Getting down to the task at hand, Maresca has brought in his first signing as Chelsea’s manager to beef up the squad ahead of next campaign.

The new player signed into the Blues fold is Tosin Adarabioyo. Adarabioyo, 26, emerged as a top transfer target for the Blues and other top Premier League clubs following an impressive individual campaign with Fulham.

Newcastle United were among top Premier League clubs who were vying for the services of the defender but Chelsea led the pole to sign the player.

Talks with the player was on the fast lane and the Blues were able to speedily broker an agreement easily. The 26-year-old reportedly wanted the Chelsea move. His contract with the Cottagers was set to expire at the end of 2023-24 season, hence was off the hooks of the London club at the end of the season.

As of the time of filing this report, Adarabioyo has reportedly completed his medical and is set for a new chapter with the Blues.

Enzo Maresca is said to have played a big role in the move, having worked with the player while he was Manchester City Academy coach.

Adarabioyo nursed his career in Manchester City Academy from 2003 to 2016 before he was called up to the first team. He failed to make a single appearance for the club and was loaned to West Bromwich Albion and Blackburn Rovers before settling for a permanent deal with Fulham in 2020. He has made 119 Premier League appearances for the club, scoring 5 goals.

He will hope to continue on top-level performance as he takes up a new challenge with Chelsea.
