Chelsea new signings are leading the list of new players that have been registered for Champions League round 16.
Highly-rated former Benfica midfielder and Argentina international Enzo Fernandez is among the new players that have been confirmed registered in the tournament for Chelsea.
Enzo Fernandez was instrumental to Benfica’s Champions League run in the group stages before joining Chelsea from the Portuguese giants in the cusp of transfer deadline.
Chelsea signed the 2022 World Cup winner and Young Player of the Tournament for a record £106m after a dragging and dramatic negotiation process. He will now represent the Blues in the Champions League.
Another Chelsea star that has been registered in the Champions League is Joao Felix. Joao Felix played in the Champions League group stages for Atletico Madrid, who crashed out in the group stages of the competiton.
After falling out with Atletico Madrid manager boss Diego Simeone, Joao Felix joined Chelsea on loan for £9.7m after signing a one-year contract extension with Atletico Madrid which will extend his stay at the club till 2027.
He will now be flying the Blue’s colour in the Champions League knockout after Atletico Madrid crashed out in the group stages.
Another Chelsea new signing that has been registered by the Blues in the Champions League is former Shakhtar Donetsk and Ukrainian sprint king Mykhailo Mudryk.
Chelsea bought Mykhailo Mudryk for €100m, with the 22-year-old signing an eight-and-a-half- year contract with Blues.
Mudryk played for Shakhtar Donetsk in the current Champions League campaign in group F. They finished third in the group with 6 points behind Real Madrid and RB Leipzig, and were dropped to Europa League knockout playoffs.
Another Premier League player registered for the Champion League is Gody Gakpo of Liverpool.
The Dutch ace played for PSV Einhoven in the Europa League, where they finished in the second place in Group A with 13 points, behind Premier League leaders Arsenal.
Gody Gakpo, who scored his first goal for Liverpool in the Merseyside Derby on Monday, had made Jurgen Klopp’s Champions League squad.
Also on the list of newly-registered players is Manchester City loanee to Bayern Munich Joao Cancelo. After a faceoff with his manager Pep Guardiola, Joao Cancelo left the Premier League champions for the Bundesliga champions on a loan deal.
He featured for Manchester City in the group stages, helping the team to the summit of Group G with 14 points, 5 points above second-placed Borussia Dortmund.
The Portuguese star had now made Julian Nagelsmann squad, who also finished top of their group (Group C) with maximum 18 points.
Joao Cancelo has been listed in Bayern Munich’s squad that will travel to Paris to take on PSG today.
Other new signings that has been registered by their new clubs include Borussia Dortmund’s Julian Ryerson signed from Union Berlin and Sebastian Haller.
Bayern Munich’s goalkeeper replacement for Manuel Neuer, Yann Sommer, who was signed from Borussia Monchengladbach has been registered, including Sporting Lisbon loanee to Tottenham Pedro Porro.
