Donny van de Beek At Manchester United

Donny van de Beek joined the Red Devils from Ajax on September 2, 2020, for a fee of €39 million.

He struggled to live up to the lofty expectations heaped on him, resulting in him being loaned to clubs like Everton and Eintracht Frankfurt.

Why Did Manchester United sell him?

Unfortunately, van de Beek still couldn’t bring his career back to life and Manchester United have ultimately decided to cut their losses and allow him to exit Old Trafford.

Donny van de Beek had just a year left on his contract with the Red Devils and in order not to lose him for free in the summer of 2024, Manchester United acted quickly in sanctioning his transfer away from the club.

The 27-year-old, who was born on April 18, 1997, will be hoping to rediscover himself in Spain, as Girona battles squarely in the La Liga.

The Dutchman possibly would have seen how Mason Greenwood got a career revival when he joined Getafe and as such, he will be hoping to experience a career reawakening.

He was breathtaking in the middle of the park at Ajax under current Manchester United boss Erik Ten Hag, but since his move to the theater of dreams, his football journey has bitterly nosedived.
