When Eintracht Frankfurt takes on Rangers in Seville on Wednesday, they want to “rock” the Europa League final as the “Bestia Blanca” (White Beast), led by Spanish-speaking Colombia striker Rafael Borre.

Frankfurt would like to face the Scottish giants in their alternate white kit, which has become a fortunate charm after appearances in spectacular victories over Barcelona and West Ham during their European campaign.

“We’ll have to play in white. In white, we shook Europe “Axel Hellmann, a representative for the Eintracht board, is adamant. “Our name is the Bestia Blanca.”

Around 50,000 Frankfurt fans are expected to come on Seville, “which the city has never seen before,” and Hellmann promises a “special final, a unique meeting.”

“For us, Glasgow is legendary. At our club, playing versus Rangers has always been a dream “he continued.

In the 1960 European Cup semi-finals, Eintracht defeated Rangers 6-1 and 6-3, but fell 7-3 to Real Madrid in the final in Glasgow.

In Seville, Frankfurt will compete in their first European final since winning the UEFA Cup in 1980.

Borre told Eintracht’s website in Spanish, “It’s been an unbelievable year, I never anticipated to experience so much with this club.”

“I’m ecstatic to be a part of such a triumph.”

The 26-year-old arrived from River Plate in Argentina to replace Andre Silva, who scored 28 Bundesliga goals before joining RB Leipzig.

When will the Europa League Final take place?

On May 18, Eintracht Frankfurt will face Rangers in the 2022 Europa League final at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan in Seville. While this is their first Europa League final, both clubs have previously reached this level of the competition in its former incarnation, the UEFA Cup.

Rangers played in 2008 final, when they lost 2-0 to Zenit in Manchester. Eintracht Frankfurt had more success in 1980 final, which was a two-legged match against Borussia Monchengladbach of Germany. They lost 3-2 on the road but won on away goals following a 1-0 victory at home.

This season, Frankfurt won their group before going on to win the tournament. They defeated Real Betis, Barcelona, and West Ham on their way to the final. Rangers had a tougher time in their group, finishing second behind Lyon and a point ahead of Sparta Prague in third. In the preliminary knockout round, they had to beat Borussia Dortmund, then Red Star Belgrade, Braga, and RB Leipzig.

Both teams will be hoping for good weather in Seville, and Sevilla’s home stadium, with a capacity of over 40,00, could provide a superb venue.
