Former Real Madrid and Chelsea star Eden Hazard has spoken on why he decided to call time on his career.

Eden Hazard shocked fans and pundits alike when he took to social media to announce his decision to bow out of the stage at the age of 32.

However, his retirement did not come as a surprise to others after what turned out to be a four-year nightmare stint at Santiago Bernabeu with Real Madrid.

Joining the club as one of the best attacking midfielders in Europe from Chelsea, Hazard saw his career suffer a drastic decline in Spain.

He had a year remaining on his deal with the Merengues but had to agree to end the deal as his career misfortunes showed no signs of abating.

Weeks after calling it a quit, Eden Hazard has spoken on why he retire at a prime age of 32.

He said;

“I always said that I would stop playing as soon as I no longer had fun on the field”.

“I didn’t want to go play somewhere for the money. I didn’t enjoy training… and I didn’t play anymore. The decision was simple”, told L’Avenir.

Eden Hazard quit when the ovation is low but he still remains one of the most decorated Belgian footballers with a trophy-laddened career.
