The Reds kept up the pressure till full-time of the affair, whilst also showing their solidity in defense.

Diogo Jota Stellar In Front Of Goal This Season

Diogo Jota’s goal was his 4th of the season, with the Portuguese previously scoring a brace in Liverpool’s 5-1 win against West Ham and a goal on the opening matchday of the season against newly-promoted Ipswich Town.

However, the forward failed to deliver neither a goal nor an asists in Liverpool’s win against Atalanta in the UEFA Champions League.

Crystal Palace Underwhelming Display In The 2024/25 Season

Crystal Palace’s loss to Liverpool would mean they have now gone seven games without a win in the Premier League, they have just three points so far.

Crystal Palace have conceded more Premier League goals against Liverpool than they have against any other opponent both overall (70) and at home (39).

It’s no surprise as the Reds have also in the past landed the Eagles their heaviest home defeats in Premier League History. (6-1 in August 1994, 7-0 in December 2020).

Eberechi Eze Wasted Several Glorious Chances For Crystal Palace Against Liverpool

Crystal Palace came close to drawing level twice through Eberechi Eze, one of his shos was saved by Allison and the other by Vitezslav Jaros who came to replace injured Allison Becker.

Liverpool’s Arne Slot has now become the fourth manager in Premier League history to win each of his first four away games in the competition after Felipe Scolari (first 8), John Gregory (5), and Bobby Gould (4).

Not just that, Slot seemed to have cracked the code in defense, the defensive partnership of Konate and Van Dijk have been extremely solid, having just conceded two goals all season.

Mohammed Salah Stinker

Liverpool’s starman Mo Salah was kept quiet on the right wing, failing to muster up to two shots on target and he was eventually subbed off for Luis Diaz.

Although, Mo Salah inspired Liverpool’s 2-0 win against Atalanta earlier in the week.

It turned out to be just a bad day out for the Egyptian winger, he currently has 5 goals and 4 assists so far in the Premier League, leading the goal contribution charts.

Arne Slot’s side will look to continue their fairy-tale start to the season after the international break as they are set to host Chelsea at Anfield on October 20, 2024.

A rather contrasting scenario for Oliver Glasner and Palace who ended the previous season on a high, they sit 18th on the log with just 3 points, winless since the start of the season. They face Nottingham Forest at the City Ground on Monday, October 21, 2024.
