Yaya Toure’s former agent, Dimitri Seluk has refuted claims of accepting secret payments from Manchester City in view of the list of indictment that has been put on the Manchester based club.
Manchester City are under the firing line of more than a 100 charges put on them for shady financial dealings and breaking financial rules.
Proper findings and investigation was conducted for a period of four years before getting to see the gravity of offenses they have allegedly committed.
Pep Guardiola in the past has maintained that he would leave the Manchester City managerial job, if he found out that the club chiefs ever lied to him regarding breaching the rules.
Possible sanctions Manchester City could get
The club could be banished from the Premier League or face other punishments as points deduction, ban on incoming transfers, spendings restrictions and even the dispossessing of previously won league titles.
In addition to those charges are the indictment that Dimitri Seluk got secret payments from Manchester City’s owner, Shiekh Monsour Abu Dhabi United Group during Yaya Toure’s time at Manchester City.
Meanwhile, Dimitri Seluk told a media outlet: “No, everything was transparent, there was nothing on the back side.”
Dimitri Seluk further stated:
“I am interested to see what happens as this was a surprise.
“Yaya, of course, paid everything, tax and everything. It was all transparent.”
The contractual agreement between Dimitri Seluk and the former Manchester City man, Yaya Toure stopped in 2019.
Dimitri said that he would be willing to talk and share information to the independent commission that is supretending the case.
Manchester City signed the Ivorian Yaya Toure from Barcelona in 2010, and he was excellent in majority of the eight years spent at Manchester City.
The legendary midfielder scored 79 goals in 316 games for the Cityzens, and he won three Premier League trophies in addition to League Cups and an FA Cup.
The brother of former Arsenal and Liverpool man, Kolo Toure is now a youth team coach at Tottenham Hotspur.
Manchester City have strongly affirmed that they are innocent of the charges levelled against them stating they have “irrefutable evidence” that would help them clear their name.
The Cityzens say they are keenly waiting to lay the matter to bed as soon as possible and at once.
Manchester City would be judged by an independent body of three, who would vet the matter squarely in a hearing that would be done privately.
No time has been stipulated so far when the outcome of the findings would be made known.
The outcome of this matter does not look favorably in the hands of Manchester City because the last time UEFA conducted a search on Manchester City, it was said to be inconclusive due to Manchester City’s lack of cooperation during the investigation.
They were afterward fined for their actions by UEFA but the fine was overturn by a court of arbitration.
The number of years the Premier League spent in investigating this saga also implies that much must have been put into consideration before coming out to level the numerous allegations against City.
