Declan Rice has apologized to West Ham United fans after his penalty attempt was saved during their loss to Nottingham Forest.
The Hammers lost to the Premier League newcomers 1-0, with Taiwo Awoniyi scoring the winning goal just before halftime.
The team led by David Moyes had its fair number of chances to take the lead when Saïd Benrahma scored, but the goal was overturned for a foul on Michail Antonio in the buildup.
But they had their greatest chance when they were given a penalty in the middle of the second half.
Rice came forward to attempt the kick, but Dean Henderson in the Forest goal made a spectacular save.
After the game, Rice apologized for missing two of his three Premier League penalties.
“Can only apologise for the penalty miss, thought we created enough to get something from the game. We go again and stay together,” Rice tweeted.
“Head up, @_DeclanRice. We go again Thursday [fist bump emoji],” West Ham’s verified Twitter account responded.
Although Forest’s winning goal, which occurred at the opposite end of the field, was unfortunate for Rice, it had a lot to do with luck.
Ben Johnson stopped Lingard’s goal-bound shot, and the ball bounced right to Awoniyi before finding the back of the net.
Declan Rice
Declan Rice, an English professional football player who competes for Premier League club West Ham United and the England team, was born on January 14, 1999. Rice can play as a defensive midfielder or center-back.
Rice, who was born in England and has Irish paternal grandparents, formerly competed for Ireland at the youth and senior levels in international competitions before transferring to England in 2019.
Greater London’s Kingston upon Thames is where Rice was born and reared. His paternal grandparents were natives of Douglas in Ireland’s County Cork.
He was seven years old when he enrolled in Chelsea’s academy in 2006. After being released at the age of 14, he enrolled in West Ham United’s academy in 2014.
Declan Rice Ireland
Rice formally declared his desire to play for England, the nation of his birth, in February 2019.
The West Ham United midfielder admitted that he made his choice while watching the 2018 World Cup.
Rice competed for Ireland at the youth level and made an impression in his three senior team appearances before he officially switched allegiance to England.
So far, the midfielder has made 17 appearances for Southgate’s team since joining the national team. He played a prominent role in the Euro 2020 campaign of the Three Lions which saw England finish second after losing in the final to Italy via penalties.
Declan Rice’s Girlfriend
Declan Rice’s gorgeous girlfriend is Lauren. Even before Declan became a starter for the first team, the pair have been friends for a very long time.
Lauren acquired English citizenship because she was born there on June 16, 1999.
In 2017, Declan Rice and his girlfriend first met, making them high school sweethearts. The two fell in love right away and decided to travel life’s path together.
The two have remained together up until this point, and it appears that their bond has grown stronger over time.
It is believed that Declan Rice cheated on his girlfriend, Lauren. In Las Vegas, the football player reportedly partied with gorgeous women at Marquee. There was no evidence, nevertheless, that he betrayed Lauren, his girlfriend.
Before dating Lauren, Rice allegedly duped Fryer, his longtime girlfriend, according to reports.
At a corporate holiday party, Rice mingled with Jack Grealish and other teammates. While on a trip there, he met with some women which sparked cheating rumors.
Declan Rice’s Contract
Declan Rice and West Ham United F.C. agreed on a five-year, £780,000 contract that calls for an average annual wage of $156,000. Rice’s basic salary in 2022 will be £156,000.
Declan Rice was, however, given an 8-year deal worth £200,000 a week by West Ham, which would have made him the highest-paid player in the history of the team. However, the 23-year-old turned down all offers and is willing to leave this summer.
The sizable new eight-year contract offer West Ham United made to Declan Rice was an effort to deter transfer interest from Manchester United and Chelsea.
