Dean Henderson is confident of coming back to fitness in time for pre-season, after his loan move with Nottingham Forest comes to an end.

The 26-year-old’s last two games with the tricky trees were relatively successful as he was the hero of a penalty shootout victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Carabao Cup quarter-final.

He afterwards kept a clean sheet for Nottingham Forest in a 2-0 victory over Leicester City.

The injury has kept him out of action since January, though, which shows he has featured in 20 games cumulatively in 2022/23.

The team tutored by Steve Cooper acquired Keylor Navas on loan from Paris Saint-Germain and he has slotted in perfectly.

Henderson penned a season long loan deal with the Reds back in the summer as they prepared for their comeback to the Premier League.

Prior to the injury, He played all but one of Forest’s league matches as he was ineligible to play against his parent side, Manchester United.

Despite, he was able to finish the encounter, it was later established that he had sustained a grade two tear in his thigh, initially ruling him out for four to six weeks.
