David de Gea has reportedly turned down a £500k-a-week deal and a chance to play with ex-United teammate Cristiano Ronaldo at Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr.
Al-Nassr, Ronaldo’s Saudi Pro League club, were eager to make him their latest big-name signing and keep their chances of persuading him open.
However, sources close to the player claim that De Gea’s wife Edurne is not interested in the move to the Middle East, hence, the keeper’s reluctance to join Al-Nassr.
Futballnews also understands that Manchester United were willing to offer him a short-term deal, while Valencia’s interest in the Spaniard might be affected by their financial issues.
David De Gea is also a target of Major League Soccer side Inter Miami and the possibility of the goalkeeper moving to Lionel Messi’s team is not in doubt.
Should he move to the MLS, David De Gea will link up with Cristiano Ronaldo’s old rivals Lionel Messi rather than playing with the Portuguese whom he played with at United.
Inter Miami also has his former Spain teammates Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets playing for the team and that alone could also prod up the Spaniard to move to the States.
Manchester United, De Gea’s former club, are likely to be without No1 goalkeeper Andre Onana in the New Year following the injury he picked up from the international break.
Manchester United bought Altay Bayindir from Fenerbahce for £4.3m in the summer and also still have Tom Heaton on the books, but they are yet to feature for the club.
However, the former Red Devils number 1 David De Gea could likely be asked to return to Old Trafford on a short-term basis following the absence of Andre Onana.
Just as seen in the image shared above, De Gea, the former Red Devil keeper has been training and also has continued to be seen around Manchester.
De Gea recently hung out with United star Sergio Reguilon before he reunited with ex-team-mate and new Man United captain Bruno Fernandes.
