David De Gea Enjoys Downtime With His Family In The Bahamas Amidst Break From Football

David De Gea seems to be using his time off the pitch productively as he shared pictures showing when he was enjoying a family vacation in the Bahamas.

The Spaniard goalkeeper, who is now a free agent after leaving Old Trafford, is showing off his softer side as he dotes on his family and enjoys some well-deserved rest.

The 33-year-old former Manchester United shot-stopper was accompanied by his wife Edurne and their adorable daughter Yanay as they were both soaking up the sun and creating lasting memories in the Bahamas.

Photos of David De Gea holding Yanay in the crystal-clear waters and lounging on the beach were posted on the Spaniard’s Instagram page, giving fans a glimpse into his personal life away from football duties.

The former Red Devils renowned goalkeeper was spotted playing his favorite long tennis in one of the video clips posted.

David De Gea has been in a relationship with Spanish singer Edurne since 2010, whom he got married to in Menorca on 1 July 2023.

On the 4th of March 2021, the couple had their first child, a daughter named Yanay who recently clocked 3 years old.

De Gea’s final season at Old Trafford

During his last season at Old Trafford, De Gea faced difficulties, letting in six goals at the Etihad and seven at Anfield as Erik ten Hag’s team suffered humiliation at the hands of their biggest rivals.

Despite appearing poised to sign a new contract with United on a reduced salary, his departure was officially announced in July 2023.

The 33-year-old however, expressed his goodbye to Manchester United fans in a heartfelt message posted on Instagram.

He wrote: “I would like to express my unwavering gratitude and appreciation for the love from the last 12 years. We’ve achieved a lot since my dear Sir Alex Ferguson brought me to this club.

“I took incredible pride every time I pulled on this shirt. To lead the team, to represent this institution – the biggest club in the world – was an honor only bestowed upon a few lucky footballers.

“Now it’s the right time to undertake a new challenge, to push myself again in new surroundings.”

In his time at Manchester United, De Gea made over 500 appearances and won a Premier League title, an FA Cup, two League Cups, three Community Shields and the UEFA Europa League.

What’s next for David De Gea?

The Spanish goalkeeper has been without a club since leaving Old Trafford after 12 years.

He has been linked with moves to Premier League side Newcastle United and clubs in the Saudi Pro League.

According to The Athletic, he was offered a short-term deal at the City Ground to showcase his talents. However, De Gea refused the deal and has decided to wait for an offer from his home country Spain, with Atletico Madrid and Real Madrid as potential destinations.

Meanwhile, De Gea was close to joining Real Madrid in the past, but a technical issue kept him at Manchester United.
