The former Manchester United star has been in Florida to some time to oversee construction on his latest enterprise. The stadiums inaugural is coming up soon and while inspecting the work on the stadium he posed for a photo with the club’s managing owner, Jorge Mas and sporting director, Paul McDonough.

The Lockhart Stadium, use to be the home to the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, and will now be Inter Miami’s home for the next two years. After two years, it is understood to would be turned into a training center and academy base. It will then be used to host lower-tier football teams in America.

Beckham also informed fans that after two years, Inter Miami is expected to move to another facility in Miami. In Miami, a 25,000 seater awaits in Miami Freedom Park. It is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2022. The facility will feature hotels, restaurants, shops, a four-story parking garage, and a state of the art training facility upon completion.

But until the project is completed, Inter Miami has been granted permission by the MLS to play their first two matches away. This will ensure you give the Club enough time as needed to get things in order at the Lockhart stadium.

Their debut game is an away fixture against the Los Angeles FC on 1 March. After that, they will travel to DC a week later to take on DC United. Their first game isn’t until March 14 when they take on Beckham’s former club of six years, Los Angeles Galaxy.
