According to reports, former Barcelona defender Dani Alves has demanded to be locked in his detention cell for majority of the day following the news of his wife divorcing him over allegations that he raped a woman.
Alvez has been in jail since he was apprehended on the 20th of January in the midst of stories that he attacked the woman at a nightclub in Barcelona in the dying embers of 2022.
Alves’s wife, Joana Sanz, visited the former Barcelona defender in the Brians 2 prison in Catalonia in February amidst rumors that Joana had asked for the marriage to be dissolved.
Based on information flying around, reports claim that he is very devastated and frightened after his 29-year-old wife made it known to him that she wanted to divorce him.
Reports from a media outlet in Spain named Cuatro, have revealed that Dani Alvez wants to be locked in his detention cell for almost an entire day in the confinement where he has been subjected to.
Dani Alves is now in a cell that harbors only him
The Brazilian football star is now in a confinement that houses only him after sharing a cell with another prison inmate.
Based on information gathered, Dani Alves has also embarked on a hunger strike and there are days when he doesn’t even munch on anything at all.
However, he is apparently allowed daily visits in prison, where Dani Alves is also said to have made his prison football debut.
This is occurring after his wife removed most of the pictures she took with the Brazilian from her Instagram account, after he allegedly claimed he had consensual sex with his accuser despite initially denying he knew the woman.
Joan Sanz got married to the former Juventus defender in 2017 and she is yet to make any formal statements on the information in circulation.
Dani Alves was dismissed by Mexican club UNAM Pumas after he was put behind bars by a judge in the city of Barcelona.
A woman asserted that she was assaulted by Alves at Barcelona’s swanky Sutton location on the 30th of December, which resulted in his arrest on the 20th of January.

Alves has afterwards claimed innocence over the allegations, a judge in Barcelona ordered that he should be confined and has since been in prison.
The Barcelona legend had two stints at the club before putting pen-to-paper on a deal to join Mexican side UNAM Pumas in 2022.
Alves has made it clear that before he was apprehended, he had no encounter with the woman who accused him of assault.
Although, he told a court that he had agreed sex with the 23-year-old woman, the lawyer of the former Barcelona man stated that he changed his version of events on the supposed sexual assault to hide his infidelity.
After his arrest, his wife Joana said she had lost the “two pillars in my life”.
The former Paris Saint Germain full-back flew to Spain after agreeing to be quizzed over the allegations springing up based on the incident.
In the past, the 23-year-old woman claimed Alves slapped her and raped her in the bathroom of the nightclub where they met.
The woman also claims to have had a close view at Daniel Alves tattoo during the time he was slightly undressed and she is said to have instantly revealed to her friends what transpired, with bouncers giving information to the police afterwards.
UNAM Pumas ended the contract of Dani Alves after he was apprehended and now they are supposedly requesting for £4 million in damages from him due to a breach of contract.
