Cristiano Ronaldo Reveals What He Wants to Achieve Before Retiring

    Cristiano Ronaldo had revealed his target before considering retirement. The Al Nassr striker wants to score 1000 goals before he brings down the curtain on his career.

    He was challenged to achieve this feat by the current president of FC Porto, Jorge Nuno Pinto da Costa.

    The challenge came after he extended his international goal tally to 125 since making his debut in the 2004 Euros.

    The player is hungry to achieve more success before hanging up his boots. He is not planning on retiring and he has his sight on winning the Euros in 2024.

    Ronaldo said, “I hope to be well by then, but there’s still a lot of time left, I hope I don’t have any injuries or other problems.”

    “I hope to play and be in the finals again, but until then there’s a lot left, a lot of things at club and national team.”

    If he continues, he is likely to be fit for the World Cup at the age of 41. Also, Ronaldo may be the oldest player in the tournament.

    Ronaldo scored two goals against Slovakia to secure all three points needed to secure Euro 2024 qualification.

    It was also his 200 appearances for his country.

    In 2021, the striker surpassed Ali Daei’s 15-year international record. He went ahead, becoming one of the greatest players of all time.

    Earlier this season, it was reported that the striker will sign a new contract with Al Nassr. Since joining the club in 2022 in a whopping amount of £175 million in a year deal.

    His contract ends in 2025. According to the Forbes, the Portuguese had been named the highest paid in the World ahead of Kylian Mbappe and Neymar Jr.

    What next For Portugal And Cristiano Ronaldo

    The Portuguese team will be ready to face Bosnia and Herzegovina on October 16, 2023 at 7:45 pm. It is going to be Portugal eighth Euros 2024 qualifier match. 

    The nation do not need to prepare for the match because they had already qualified for the Euros 2024. 

    Portugal manager Roberto Martinez may decide to put Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench or allow him travel back to the Middle East to continue preparations for the Saudi Arabia Pro League.

    After that, Portugal will face Liechtenstein on November 16, 2023. It will be the ninth match of the Euros qualifiers. 

    The Portuguese team are already on top of the Group J with 21 points from seven matches. 

    Liechtenstein are already out of the tournament with just 0 points from seven matches. The team are one of the Worst in the Euros qualifiers.
