Cristiano Ronaldo left Juventus’s training ground with an injury amidst strong speculations concerning his future with the Italian team.

According to reports, Ronaldo sustained an injury on his right arm after a challenge from his club’s teammate, Alex Sandro.

Due to the injury, the 36-year-old Portuguese football icon could not continue with the match as he was escorted off the training ground by the club’s medical team.

The medical team will access the situation to determine whether or not Cristiano Ronaldo would be fit enough to play Juventus’ league game against Empoli on Saturday, August 28, 2021. The match is expected to kick off at 19:45 in Turin.

Ronaldo’s arm injury came three days after Juventus’s coach Max Allegri decided to start the 5-times Ballon d’Or winner from the bench against Udinese on Sunday, August 22.

The Italian coach introduced the Portuguese football icon in the second half of the game but his presence could not stop Juventus from drawing 2-2. He however scored a late-minute goal which the VAR canceled for a marginal offside.

Even though Allegri stressed that he decided to start Cristiano Ronaldo from the bench due to tactical reasons, reports have continued to speculate that Ronaldo asked to be rested to keep his fitness level high for his potential new club.

Reports say Ronaldo who has just a season left on his contract with Juventus is no longer interested in playing for the Italian football giant. He could move to Paris Saint Germain if Kylian Mbappe succeeds in leaving the French club for Juventus this summer.

A report by French publication L’Equipe claimed Cristiano Ronaldo is likely to push for a move to the Premier League to join Manchester City this summer.

The report also claimed that Ronaldo has discussed his desire to move to Manchester City with his Portuguese teammates who are City’s players – Bernardo Silva, Ruben Dias, and Joao Cancelo.

According to the French publication, Manchester City are interested in the move and are ready to meet up with Ronaldo’s salary which is around €31 million per year.

The Premier League club might include 27-year-old Spanish defender Aymeric Laporte or the club’s Attacking midfielder Silva as part of a swap deal to bring Ronaldo to City.

However, Manchester City are not willing to pay Juventus any transfer fee which could be the only problem of the negotiation between the Italian club and the English club.

Though Juventus are still interested in keeping Ronaldo until June 30, 2022, if any club makes a serious offer for the services of the football icon this summer, they will not hesitate to sell him.

Reports claimed that the value of the one season left on Ronaldo’s contract with Juventus is between €25 million and €30 million which should not be a problem for PSG or Manchester City to pay off.

It is looking more likely that Cristiano Ronaldo might join PSG, this is why

Recently, Khalid bin Hamad Bin Khalifa Al-Thani, the brother of the owner of PSG, Nasser Al-Khelaifi, tweeted a picture of Cristiano Ronaldo and Leo Messi with Paris Saint-Germain shirts superimposed on them with the caption “maybe”.

The same Khalid bin Hamad did the same thing when it was being speculated that Messi would join PSG. At the end of the day, Messi became a PSG player.

Hence, if the antecedent is anything to bank on, the likeliest club Ronaldo might end up in could be PSG but that might not come on a platter of gold.

This is so because, after Khalid bin Hamad tweeted Messi and Ronaldo’s picture, Lapo Elkann, a member of the Agnelli family who owns Juventus made a swift reaction against the tweet.

He said: “CR7 is a Juventus FC player. It is disrespectful to continue putting other shirts on him as if he were a sticker,” Elkann wrote.

“If he changes teams, wherever he goes, he will have respect as a man and as an athlete. For us, football is a passion for generations “.
