Portuguese great Cristiano Ronaldo was yellow-carded at half-time of Al Nassr’s quarter-final encounter with Abha in the Saudi Arabian King cup after he furiously kicked the ball up the field as the referee blew for half-time.

Ronaldo took the ball before kicking it up the field as the referee called for the end of the first 45 minutes. Following what ensued, he was seen irritably raising his hands and shouting at himself while gesticulating towards the direction of the referee.

The reason why the Portuguese attacker got angry!

Cristiano Ronaldo got angry because he was not allowed to progress a counter attack for his team, even though the two minutes additional time for the first half had expired.

The former Manchester United forward then left the field angrily, despite his side were in the lead and in a favorable position of progressing to the next round of the quarter-final encounter.

Al Nassr went one goal up after just 10 seconds played as Sami Al-Najie took the side into the lead following a ball dangling forward that left the Abha defence opened.

Abdullah Al-Khaibari then made it two on the 21st minute after the ball was cut back behind Ronaldo, who was waiting in the 18 yard box for Al-Khaibari to score.

The Portuguese was not the only individual booked in the game as two other players were given yellow cards, Abdulmajeed Al-Sulaiheem and Abha’s Dries Saddiki were served warning for their actions.

Al Nassr started the second half of proceedings with so much desire and they created a big chance shortly after the second 45 commenced but the goalie of the Abha side couldn’t punch the ball away nicely.

Mohammed Maran scored the third goal for Al Nassr before Abdulfattah Adam scored the consolation for Abha club on the 69th minute reacting to a loose ball after a save from Nawaf Alaqidi.

Though his team won, Ronaldo was left disappointed that he could not score for the third successive matches.

Ronaldo signed a £175-million-a-year deal in December to join Al Nassr and he has not wasted time in adapting to the league.

He recently won the Saudi Pro League Player Of The Month award for the month of February in the Saudi Arabian Pro League.

Ronaldo has been breathtaking at Al Nassr

The ex-Real Madrid forward has scored 8 goals and made 2 assists in 8 matches in the Saudi Pro League including scoring a hat-trick in Al Nassr’s 3-0 victory against Damac FC on the 25th of February and a haul against Al-Wehda.

Crystal Palace winger, Wilfred Zaha is also being lured to join the Saudi Arabian Pro League as an offer of 9-million from Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad was put forward.

Zaha would be a free agent by the end of the season if Crystal Palace do not manage to tie him down to a new deal.

Ronaldo’s move to the Saudi Arabian Pro League has brought a lot of attention to the league as many have began following the league religiously.
