Cristiano Ronaldo took to his Twitter handle to announce that they have lost their baby boy and currently is in grief he and his wife Georgina Rodriguez.
Ronaldo made this announcement on Easter Monday around 7:23 pm WAT, the Manchester United Legend stated how he and his wife are grieving the loss of the baby boy.
Ronaldo and his partner, Georgina Rodriguez, said they were expecting twins at the end of October 2021.
The 37-year-old said on Easter Monday “our baby boy has passed away” in a post on social media while confirming the birth of his baby girl.“
It is the greatest pain that any parents can feel,” the Portuguese added.
“Only the birth of our baby girl gives us the strength to live in this moment with some hope and happiness.“
“We would like to thank the doctors and nurses for all their expert care and support.“
“We are all devastated at this loss, and we kindly ask for privacy at this very difficult time.
Our baby boy, you are our angel. We will always love you.”Manchester United offered their support for Ronaldo in a post on Twitter on Monday evening.
The club statement read, “Your pain is our pain, Cristiano. Sending love and strength to you and the family at this time.”
In December, the couple revealed that they were expecting both a boy and a girl in a gender-reveal film that included their older children.
The four children were seen popping balloons filled with both blue and pink confetti in the now-famous video.
After Georgina had given them a countdown, the two boys exclaimed, “It’s a boy,” and the two girls added, “It’s a girl,” with Ronaldo adding the message, “Where life begins and love never ends.”
Georgina, who is from Argentina, met Cristiano Ronaldo in 2016 while working as a Gucci shop assistant during his tenure as a Real Madrid player.
She’s been close with Ronaldo’s older children, Cristiano Jr., 11, and twins Mateo and Eva, four, since then.
Georgina has a four-year-old daughter named Alana before conceiving the twins last year.
