We are at the point of the season in which any player whose contract expires at the end of the season will be in talks with other clubs about a Bosman transfer in the summer. While several unknown players will be out of contract this summer, some of the world’s finest players will also be available as free agents.

Some of the top players who will be free agents this summer are Kylian Mbappe, Paulo Dybala, Paul Pogba, Franck Kessie, Antonio Rudiger, and Ousmane Dembele.

Lorenzo Insigne, a Euro 2020 and Napoli star, has already agreed to a Bosman deal to Toronto and will arrive in the summer. Atletico Madrid’s Hector Herrera had agreed to a pre-contract with Houston Dynamo.

Zenit struck a pre-contract agreement with Bayer Leverkusen in December, but the Bundesliga club only made it public in January. In the summer, Niklas Sule will also join Borussia Dortmund as a free agent.

Juventus has revealed that Dybala will depart the club after the season, while Barcelona president Joan Laporta has all but finalized the transfers of free agents Kessie and Andreas Christensen.

Those two movements, however, are not yet official. Perhaps never before have so many top-tier players been available as free agents, and elite teams such as Manchester United, Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, and Barcelona are running out of time to prevent their superstars from going for nothing.

Below are the top free agents of the 2022 summer transfer window in the top four leagues in Europe:

His contract with Manchester United will officially expire on June 30, 2022. Before now, the Premier League club wanted to extend the Frenchman’s contract but they could not due to Pogba’s financial demands. Hence, he could return to Juventus as a free agent this summer.

La Liga expiring contract (free agents):

Ousmane Dembele has been playing for FC Barcelona since August 25, 2017, after he joined the club from Borussia Dortmund for a transfer fee worth €140 million. The Spanish giants decided to spend so much on the 24-year-old French right-winger because they thought he could become the next big deal at the game. Unfortunately, injuries and inconsistency did not allow him to live up to expectations.

Hence, FC Barcelona are not willing to renew the contract of the 24-year-old Frenchman which means that Dembele will be among the free agents in the coming summer transfer window. Though there were speculations that he is wanted at Newcastle United, his next destination is not known yet.

Before things turned sour between the club and the player, Dybala who plays as a second striker scored 115 goals and provided 48 assists in 291 games in all competitions.

Paulo Dybala wanted to stay at Juventus a little longer but the Italian club failed to agree on personal terms with the 28-year-old Argentine footballer. Hence, he had to bow out. Dybala is free to join any club interested in him at the end of this season for free.
