It’s believed that the France international would accept a huge amount to join the Ligue 1 even after signing a new contract this summer.

Recall that Christopher Nkunku recently signed a new two-year contract with RB Leipzig following an amazing 2021/22 season. The new contract will keep him at the Red Bull Arena until 2026 and he has debunk any issues about his future.

Christopher Nkunku was an important addition to RB Leipzig after joining them from Paris Saint-Germain in 2019. The 24-year-old helped them to win the DFB-Pokal trophy last season, and his performance has attracted the attention of big clubs to him this summer.

However, he decided to ignore all the offers and penned down a new contract with the German Bundesliga club and is now focused on helping the team next season.

While discussing with some journalists during a pre-season training session in Austria, Christopher Nkunku sent a definitive message to his fans. He said: “For me, it was a given to extend my contract here. I feel right at home in this city and at this club. I still don’t see my work here as finished. So I’m not thinking about leaving the club next year either.”

According to the France international, the team did very well last season and there’s still more to come from the club. He admitted that he wants to continue helping the team to become successful.

Christopher Nkunku, who’s a product of the Paris Saint-Germain academy joined the senior team in 2018 but was not able to secure a spot on the first team.

The Ligue 1 champions decided to let him go for just €13 million in 2019, which has proven to be a bargain deal for RB Leipzig as he has since emerged as one of the top young forwards on the continent.

Nkunku finished last season with a record of 30 goals and 22 assists in 50 games across all competitions. The 24-year-old proved himself as a top striker both in Germany and across Europe, but he hasn’t let individual success get into his head.

Christopher Nkunku acknowledged the fact that he had an impressive season with outstanding numbers but didn’t fail to acknowledge the input of his teammates. He noted that they helped him a lot and he wouldn’t have gotten any goal or assist without them.
