After an outstanding season in which he scored 35 goals in all competitions for RB Leipzig, he has been linked with several prominent European clubs.

Nkunku, who is under contract until 2024, told Telefoot that if a big club comes in for him, he will have to examine his choices.

He said: ‘It’s no secret. There are clubs interested in me.

‘Yes it’s flattering, but it’s also flattering to have a club like Leipzig do everything to keep me as well.’

‘I’ll have to reflect well and make a decision. The World Cup is on the way and that’s another factor to take into account.’

‘Like I’ve said, I’ll simply have to reflect on it,’ he continued when asked how he would react if his previous club PSG made a bid to sign him.

Christopher Nkunku, 24, has made three senior appearances for France, assisting Karim Benzema for the first time against Denmark on Friday, and has his sights set on a place in the Qatar World Cup later this year.

Chelsea might be the first club to make a move for the forward, according to French daily L’Equipe, with the west London club reportedly being long-time admirers of the player.

United, according to L’Equipe, is also interested in the player. Newcastle is also rumored to be interested. However, Newcastle are not the player’s first choice of destination, despite being owned by the wealthy Saudi Public Investment Fund.

On the other hand, RB Leipzig are rumored to have no plans to sell their prized asset this summer, and with two years left on his present contract, it would appear that a big offer would be required to tempt him away from the German club, who have qualified for next season Champions League campaign.
