Chelsea Women emerged winners of the 2023/24 Women’s Super League on the final day after putting Manchester United Women to a rout.

The Emma Hayes-led side steamrollered to a thumping 6-0 victory at Old Trafford to win their record-extending 7th Women’s Super League title.

Since 2020, the London-based side have dominated the England women’s topflight elite division but the 2023/24 title went down to the wires.

Runners-up, Manchester City Women, staged a formidable challenge and were stuck on the same points (52) ahead of the final matchday.

However, Chelsea led the race on goal difference, two better than the reckoners. Heading into the final matchday, it was certainly going down to goal margins between the two sides to determine the winner.

Manchester City won 2-1 away against Aston Villa in the other fixture to secure all 3 points but the score margin wasn’t enough to break Chelsea’s enduring dominance of the WSL.

At Old Trafford, Chelsea Women secured one of their biggest wins this season, pummeling Manchester United Women to submission with a 6-0 victory.

The 2024 UEFA Women’s Champions League semifinalists got off the mark from the first half, scoring four before the break through Ramirez’s brace, and Kaneryd and Nusken’s goals.

In the second half, Leupolz and Kirby extended the score margin to inflict United Women with their biggest defeat this season in front of the home fans.

The 6-0 victory saw Chelsea extend their goal advantage over Manchester City to seven goals, enough to see them rake home their seventh Women’s Super League title.

It was a celebration galore for the players and Emma Hayes, who took to the pitch to celebrate another big milestone for the club.

The Blues have now won the Women’s Super League Title in five consecutive seasons, becoming the first club to do.
