Chelsea will take on newly-promoted side Luton Town on Friday, 24 August 2023 in the Premier League

Against Luton, Mauricio Pochettino will be under pressure to secure nothing less than a win as they prepare to trade tackles with the Premier League newbies.
Luton Town opened their Premier League campaign with a heavy defeat to Brighton at the Falmer Stadium. The Hatters face a tough task when they travel to Stamford Bridge as both clubs will hope to clinch their first three points in the game.
Chelsea will head into the game as favourites to win, having defeated the Hatters in their last two clashes since 2021.

Chelsea are struggling with a number of injuries with the recent addition to the list being Carney Chukwuemeka.
The former Aston Villa youngster was subbed off in first half during Chelsea’s 3-1 Derby loss to West Ham. He is set to miss action for the Blues for six weeks.
Also on Chelsea’s injury list is Armando Broja, who picked up an injury since last summer. Broja has returned to Chelsea training and is closing on returning to action with the Blues but will not be available against Luton.
Christopher Nkunku, who joined the club this summer from RB Leipzig, is also ruled out of the game, including Wesley Fofana, Benoit Badiashile, Marcus Bettinelli, Trevoh Chalobah, and Reece James.
Mykhailo Mudryk will be expected to start in the attack alongside Nicolas Jackson and Raheem Sterling.
Enzo Fernandez will start in the midfield. Caicedo, who had a nightmare debut coming off the bench against West Ham United, will likely make his first start.

Luton has a number of first team players nursing injuries and will be ruled out of the match. Leading the list are Dan Potts and Jordan who are suffering from an ankle injury, including Reece Burk and Gabriel Osho.
Kaminski is expected to start on goal with Lockyer and Andersen at the defence while Adebayo and Morris are expected to lead the attack. Former Chelsea and Everton midfielder Ross Barkley could also make his debut for Luton which he joined this summer.
