Chelsea is reportedly set to get rid of goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga in a sensational swap deal that could see the Blues keeper move to the Wanda Metropolitano. The Spaniard is set to be replaced with Atletico Madrid goalkeeper Jan Oblak. Arrizabalaga has been tipped to leave the club in recent weeks after falling out with manager Frank Lampard.

Lampard has left the 25-year-old on the bench in recent weeks. With the Spain international being dropped from the last three Premier League fixtures and missing in action during the Blues Champions League clash against Bayern Munich.

Instead, 38-year-old Willy Caballero has been called to replace the Spaniard as the first team keeper. The move to replace Arrizabalaga with Cabellero has since backfired with fans becoming furious. Since Caballero’s take over, the Blues have lost two of their four games and have only one once. Chelsea suffered a bitter blow when they were embarrassingly beaten at Stamford Bridge 3-0 by Bayern Munich in their Champions League clash.

Chelsea will face off against Bournemouth on Saturday and fans have urged Lampard to recall Arrizabalaga which is most likely a doubt due to their falling out. With uncertainty building over the Spaniard’s future, he may be in for a spell on the sidelines till the end of the season. Chelsea is said to have reached a deal with Atletico Madrid concerning Slovenian goalkeeper Oblak. The 27-year-old who is widely considered one of the best keepers in the world is said to be excited to move to the English Premier League.

Speaking after last weekend’s 2-1 win over Tottenham, Lampard insisted he was under no pressure to recall Kepa.

“I am absolutely together with the board. We want the best. I am paid to make decisions. It is a decision recently where, as I have mentioned before, with a form that I have to consider the goalkeeping position as well as all positions.”

Meanwhile, a serious split from his long-term girlfriend, Andrea Perez has been said to be responsible for Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga’s poor run of form this season. After a promising start to the season, the Spaniard has let in 32 goals in just 24 Premier League matches.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has been concerned about Kepa’s form lately, with reports saying that the Blues boss is set to sign a new goalkeeper for next season. The Spaniard was dropped in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw away to Leicester for Veteran Willy Caballero. The Argentine is expected to remain Chelsea’s No1 goalie until the end of the season.
