Chelsea star Mason Mount has updated supporters of his injury situation through a post on his Instagram account and he also told fans that he “can’t wait to get back to training”.

Mount has been ruled out for the remainder of the campaign and this is definitely a big blow for Chelsea in the midst of an horrible season.

It has been a difficult season for the team academy graduate, who had struggled to cement a first team starting shirt under former manager Graham Potter or current caretaker boss Frank Lampard.

Mason Mount has been linked with a move away from Chelsea

The 24-year-old has been highly rumored with a move away from Chelsea and when Frank Lampard revealed this week that he needed surgery for a pelvic issue, it resulted in supporters worried that he has played the final match for the West London side.

After criticism of his recent showing from Chelsea faithfuls, the Englishman announced last week he was leaving Microblogging app, Twitter.

But Mason Mount has remained on Instagram and looked cheerful on Wednesday as he shared a photo to his 5.6 million followers from the treatment room.

He captioned the post with: “Had a minor procedure yesterday to sort out a discomfort I had for a while. Everything went well and I’m feeling good. Time to rest but can’t wait to get back to training in the coming weeks! Thanks for all your messages of support and a massive thank you to the medical team, doctors and nurses for looking after me.”

Response from Chelsea fans indicated that majority of Chelsea supporters want Mount to remain at Chelsea. One of the club’s fans @louise_hartje2 wrote:

“Get well soon @masonmount and please stay at Chelsea!!!!” @_locky_ added: Strength to you and good recovery Stay in Chelsea Bro, we need you.”

The midfielder has just one year remaining on his present deal and with Todd Boehly now battling financial fair play concerns in the midst of Chelsea’s failure to qualify for Europe’s top competition this campaign, Mount’s transfer amount is not likely to be exorbitant.

Ex-Liverpool player Danny Murphy has asserted he is a perfect man to solve the midfield problems at the Merseyside club.

Murphy stated on talkSPORT: “I think they Liverpool need two or three new midfield players, Ox Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will go, James Milner will go, Naby Keita will go.

“Mount would be good value because he’s got a year left. You’re not going to have to pay silly money for him.”

Mason Mount made his debut for Chelsea in August 2019 and he has featured in 195 games across all competitions for Chelsea.

The Englishman has scored 33 goals so far for the Blues and he has also represented the Three Lions of England in 33 previous occasions including being part of Gareth Southgate’s 26-man list for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
