English Premier League giants Chelsea FC have joined the likes of Barcelona and French Ligue 1 champions Paris Saint-Germain in the race to sign Bayern Munich’s top player Robert Lewandowski in this summer transfer window.
The Blues are looking to improve their attacking areas before the start of next season and Lewandowski has been added to their wishlist.
The Blues are aware that Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain are trying to secure the services of Robert Lewandowski.
Reports in Spain claimed that Barça are preparing to submit an improved offer for Lewandowski which will be more than €40 million.
This is coming after their first offer of €32 million-plus add-ons of €5 million was rejected by Bayern Munich. The 33-year-old Poland captain has just one season left in his contract with Bayern Munich but is ready to leave the Bundesliga champions for a new challenge.
In a recent press conference, Lewandowski said: “I know what I had at Bayern and appreciate it very much. I also know that I’ve been doing my best not to disappoint the club and the fans for the past eight years. After this time, I feel that it’s time for a new stage.”
The above statement means that there’s a big opportunity for top clubs in Europe to push for his signature but Barcelona are the current favorites to get him.
Barcelona president Joan Laporta has revealed that his team is confident about the deal. According to him, there would soon be a positive response from Bayern Munich in line with Barca’s offer.
Chelsea’s other option Gabriel Jesus is likely to leave Manchester City this summer. But the Brazilian has other options from clubs like Juventus, Barcelona, and Arsenal.
Multiple sources say that he’s heavily linked with Arsenal and that Arsenal could be his next destination.
Note that The Blues are looking for a striker because Romelu Lukaku is set to leave the club. Lukaku has revealed that he’s interested in going back to Inter Milan after having a disappointing return to Chelsea.
The Belgian man moved to Chelsea last season in a transfer that’s among the most expensive in Premier League history. However, he failed to meet the expectations of most Chelsea fans.
Lukaku had an impressive season at Inter Milan before coming to Chelsea but he didn’t replicate such performance in England.
