Chelsea has completed the signing of 25-year-old France and RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Christopher Nkunku.

Christopher Nkunku will now join the Premier League club in the summer. The deal was reportedly completed on Saturday, ending rumors and speculations linking the Bundesliga player of the season to Stamford Bridge.

Christopher Nkunku is one of the most prolific attacking midfielders in the Bundesliga. Last season, he emerged into the spotlights and radar of Chelsea when he delivered 15 assists and scored 20 goals for RB Leipzig.

His release clause, as set by RB Leipzig, was £53million. According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea paid £10m more to compel RB Leipzig to sell the French star.

Christopher Nkunku will now join Chelsea in the summer of 2023 and is Chelsea’s first signing since the appointment of Graham Potter as the club’s new manager.

Christopher Nkunku will be a significant boost for Chelsea, who are currently struggling with injury, with many first-team players piling up the club’s injury list.

Armando Broja was the latest player to make Chelsea’s injury list after suffering a severe knee injury in a friendly against Aston Villa.

Other Chelsea stars struggling with injury includes Wesley Fofana, N’Golo Kante, and Reece James, Loftus-cheek, Carney Chukwuemeka, Ben Chilwell, Cesar Azpilicueta, and Kepa Arrizbalaga.

Aside from the expected arrival of Christopher Nkunku, Chelsea is also eyeing former RB Leipzig sporting director Christopher Vivell to take over the role of sporting director at the club. The Blues are reportedly close to signing a deal with Vivell.
