Chelsea football club is ready to pay Inter Milan €110 million to re-sign Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku. This time around, the club would not include a player in the deal.

Initially, Chelsea offered to pay Inter Milan £85 million-plus Marcos Alonso for Romelu Lukaku. Unfortunately for Chelsea, the Italian Serie A side rejected Chelsea’s bid.

Earlier in the summer, Romelu Lukaku said he was not ready to leave Inter Milan where he has been enjoying a prolific form since he left Manchester United on August 8, 2019.

But recent reports claimed that the Belgium international is willing to leave Inter Milan for Chelsea once the Premier League club can meet the Italian club’s asking price.

As it stands, Chelsea’s new bid, €115 million is short of the current asking price of Inter Milan. Reports claimed that the price tag on the striker is £120 million.

With the new bid from Chelsea, transfer experts believe that Inter Milan might be tempted to bend their demands in favor of Chelsea, all things being equal.

If the ongoing negotiations between Chelsea and Inter Milan over Romelu Lukaku scales through, it would mark the player’s second time at the Premier League side.

Recall that Chelsea brought Lukaku to the Premier League from Belgian club Anderlecht in 2011. The 28-year-old striker stayed at the club until 2014 when the London club sold him to Everton.

Before he left Chelsea then, the Belgian football star made just 15 appearances, a sign that he was never appreciated at the Premier League club then.

When he got to Everton, he became a very prolific striker that he scored a massive 87 goals in 166 games between just 2014 and 2017.

This performance at Everton took him to Manchester United in 2017. When he got to Old Trafford, he scored 42 goals and made 96 appearances before he left for Inter Milan.

Romelu Lukaku continued with his prolific goalscoring form at Inter Milan as he scored 24 goals last season that helped the Italian club to win the Italian Serie A title for the first time in 11 years.

Romelu Lukaku would lead the attack on Chelsea if the Premier League club succeeds in signing him this summer.
