Chelsea and Manchester City run the risk of playing in the Championship next season as Everton’s 10 point deduction serves as a powerful signal to what could happen to the two giants.

The Toffes are currently in the relegation zone on the Premier League table after the 10 point deduction. However, the club are planning on launching an appeal.

Everton are in the 19th position that was previously occupied by Sheffield United on the Premier League table.

The alleged financial rule breach was from 2021-22 season and the hearing took place on October 2023.

The English team posted a staggering lost of £372 million in a three years period. That was more than the £250 million permitted by the English FA that a Premier League team are allowed to lose over three years time frame.

The alleged breach was related to accounting treatment with the Premier League arguing that the club breached profit and sustainability rules.

Chelsea on the other hand could face scrutiny over alleged payments connection to the former billionaire owner Roman Abramovich.

It was revealed that the Russia billionaire made use of offshore companies to pay the London Football club.

The Premier League is interested in investigating the London club after Chelsea’s new owners (Todd Boehly and his consortium) discovered an incomplete financial reporting connected to the Russia Billionaire.

However the English Football Association haven’t made a single comment on Chelsea allegation put forward by the new owners.

The reigning Champions of England, Manchester City, face 115 alleged breaches of the Premier League financial rules.

Stefan Borson a lawyer who advised Manchester City over the allegations on breaking financial rule tweeted after the Everton incident saying: “Without seeing the judgement/award -10 points for Everton feels harsh for a straightforward Financial Fair Play breach to me.”

“But reinforces that sanctions against City, if proven and now Chelsea, if charged and admitted on the off-books payments, will be potentially relegation inducing.”

“One thing is for sure, given the scale of this sporting sanction, Chelsea’s calculus that they could breach PL P&S [Profit and Sustainability] and just take a fine as a cost of doing business, must be in urgent and immediate reconsideration.”

Burnley, Leicester, Leeds And Southampton to Sue Everton For £300 Million

Burnley, Leeds United, Southampton and Leicester City are planning to sue Everton and are demanding £300 million in damages after Everton was found guilty of financial fair play.

It was revealed that the Leeds United, Southampton And Leicester City had written a joint letter on their plans to sue the Merseyside Blue.

The £300 million is based on the fact that the three relegated Premier League clubs lost £100 million each.

The three football clubs that were relegated  were displeased that the Everton football club were not punished last season.

Reduction of points in the previous season could have relegated Everton and one of those clubs could have stayed in the Premier League.

Sean Dyche team still have the opportunity to survive relegation battle this season as their are still a lot of matches to be played in the Premier League.
