Cadiz have reached a full agreement to sign Santos midfielder Lucas Pires on a loan deal.
The Spanish club has been actively exploring the foreign market to find a replacement following the departure of ‘Pacha’ Espino.
In recent years, Espino decided to leave the club and join Nuevo Mirandilla as a left winger. As a result, the Andalusian side have been actively seeking to strengthen their squad by acquiring a new starting full-back.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Cadiz have successfully acquired the 22-year-old Brazilian star, to fill a void in their team.
Pires will be in Cadiz today, July 23 for medical and the contract will be signed right after.
The Brazilian footballer and his club, Santos, have reached a consensus for Pires to spend one year on loan with Cádiz.
The Brazilian winger is currently under contract with Santos until 2026. However, for this season, he will be joining the Spanish club.
The Brazilian team are hopeful that the player will perform exceptionally well in the old continent, with the ultimate goal of being purchased by the Spanish team at the end of the loan period.
Pires made his debut in the Santos first team last season and quickly established himself as a key player on the left side of the renowned Brazilian team.
However, the player was forced to leave the field after being unexpectedly confronted and harassed by a group of fans while leaving a party shortly before the team’s training session.
Santos is hoping to get more playing time this season while playing for Cadiz, as he believes it will allow him to fully showcase his potential.
One of the contract conditions set by Santos is that the loan deal must include a purchase option at the end, based on the agreed parameters between the clubs.
Furthermore, Giro Esportes News has gathered information indicating that Lucas Pires’ potential transfer value is established at 2 million euros.

Lucas Pires officially signed his first professional contract with Corinthians on July 17, 2017.
He played for the under-17, under-20, and under-23 squads at the club, but he was unable to advance to the first team.
On July 10, 2021, he terminated his contract after failing to reach an agreement on new terms. The contract was originally set to expire in September.
