Burnley will lock horns against Manchester United on matchday 5 of the English Premier League on Saturday, 23rd of September.

The newly promoted club led by Vincent Kompany will hope to lengthen the Red Devils’ miserable stats in the new season at Turf Moor Stadium.

However, both teams have performed below expectations since the beginning of the season, judging from outstanding stats in the Championship and Manchester United’s performances during the pre-season.

Burnley secured a point against Nottingham Forest during their last outing, while the Red Devils suffered a 4-3 defeat to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League.

Since the beginning of the 2023/2024 Premier League campaign, both teams have experienced terrible results seeing the host losing three of their last four games before they held Nottingham last to a 1-1 draw last Saturday.

Manchester United, on the other hand, have been seeing similar results, seeing them suffered back-to-back defeat at the hands of Arsenal and Brighton & Hove Albion before Bayern crowned it all on Wednesday night at the Allianz Arena.

Burnley vs Man United Team News;

Burnley

Vincent Kompany will be without striker Lyle Foster who was given a straight red card against Nottingham for elbowing Ryan Yates just seconds before the final whistle.

Burnley are also assured to be without Michael Obafemi who’s nursing a hamstring injury, Hjalmar Ekdal suffering from a knee injury, and Darko Churlinov battling with blood poisoning, while Vitinho’s knee problem will need attention over the next couple of days too.

Foster will undoubtedly take his place, while Jay Rodriguez will be a swap up front.

Meanwhile, Aaron Ramsey, Mike Tresor, Anass Zaroury, and Benson Manuel should also be included in the lineup.

Man United

The Old Trafford outfit will be heading to Saturday’s game as one of four Premier League teams without an away point so far this season, suffering a setback in four of their previous five matches, but a five-game unbeaten streak against Burnley may boost their morale of reassurance for the traveling team.

Meanwhile, the Red Devils left with no additional injury worries to add to their list of eleven absentees from the journey to Munich.

Due to injuries, Man United are expected to be without Raphael Varane, Mason Mount, Sofyan Amrabat, Luke Shaw, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Tyrell Malacia, and Amad Diallo, along with Antony and Jadon Sancho following their private issues.

On the other hand, Harry Maguire was also not available for the team’s trip to Germany due to a small muscle crisis, and Saturday’s game will come too soon for the English player.

Burnley vs Man United; Kick-off time, Date, and Venue

The match between the two struggling teams is scheduled to take place on Saturday, 23rd of September, at Turf Moor Stadium, by 8:00 pm (BST).

Prediction;

The host will play the visitors at a better time on account of Man United’s numerous issues as injuries, defensive weaknesses, and off-field infamies threaten to derail Ten Hag’s strategy once again.

It is hard to say Manchester United will successfully secure all three points at Turf Moor.

Meanwhile, Burnley’s last performance was not convincing enough to say they’ll defeat the Red Devils.

Therefore we predict that the result might favor the visitors on a scoreline of 1-0 narrow escape.
