Bukayo Saka showed yet again why he is one of the best players in the Premier League during Arsenal’s six-goal thriller win over Leicester City.
Saka became the first Premier League player to provide six assists in the first six games in the Premier League after his inswinging corner kick was headed home by Leandro Trossard in the match.
The England star is also on course to match and possibly break the longest assist streak in the England top flight held by former Arsenal player Mesut Ozil.
In the 2015/16 season, Ozil assisted in seven consecutive Premier League matches for Arsenal – the highest number of consecutive assists by a Premier League player.
Against Southampton at home on Saturday, October 5, 2024, Saka will have a chance to match the record.

On September 15, his contributions proved crucial as the Gunners scraped past North London rivals Tottenham with a narrow 1-0 win. Saka provided the assist for Gabriel Magalhaes’ only goal of the game.
In the heated matchday five clash against Manchester City on September 22, the prolific winger’s inswinging corner-kick was headed home by Gabriel Magalhaes in the 45+1st minutes. The assist saw him register his fifth consecutive assist in the first five Premier League games of the season.
In the 4-2 victory over Leicester City, he reached an assist milestone in the England top flight after his corner was defected into the net.
Bukayo Saka tops Premier League assist table for 2024-25 season
The assist during the Leicester City match has seen Saka top the chart of players with the most assists in the ongoing 2024-25 Premier League season. He is closely followed by Chelsea forward Cole Palmer, Liverpool striker Mohamed, and Leicester City midfielder Wilfried Ndidi. All the aforementioned have four assists each. Nicolas Jackson and Jadon Sancho both have three assists.
Meanwhile, Saka has only scored one Premier League goal so far this season. He opened his campaign for the Gunners with a goal in the 2-0 win over Wolves.
From the foregoing, he may likely fall short of his Premier League goal tally last season (16) but is certainly set for a robust campaign with the Gunners, who are pushing to challenge for the England Championships title once again.
Bukayo Saka Other Premier League records
Saka’s assist heroics for Arsenal this season is just one for the record books. He has etched his name into the Premier League history books many times since his big break.
Last season, he became the second-youngest Premier League player to score 20+ goals after netting against Liverpool at the age of 21 years, 34 days after Nicolas Anelka (20 years, 41 days)
He also became the third Arsenal player to score in three consecutive Premier League appearances against Manchester United, after Freddie Ljungberg (1998-2000) and Thierry Henry (2000-2001).
Also, he is the first player to have been involved in 50+ goals for Arsenal under Mikel Arteta in all competitions.
