Manchester United star player Bruno Fernandes has finally reacted to the kind of punishment and rules the players receive from their new manager Erik ten Hag.
According to Bruno Fernandes, the new way of life is welcomed because Manchester United’s players needed to be brought into line.
The former Ajax head coach Erik ten Hag joined Man United a few months ago after the Premier League club had a difficult 2021/22 season. He’s expected to turn things around for the club and has already introduced a series of hard rules for his new players.
Some of the rules include strict timekeeping for training and no use of mobile phones at mealtimes.
Erik ten Hag believes that Man United players need more discipline both on and off the pitch and it’s one way to get them back to winning ways.
In reaction to that, Bruno Fernandes has revealed that there was no such discipline in the team last season and he said the players missed that for a while.
“For me, the way I see discipline is important”, the Portuguese attacking midfielder said. “Discipline is not only the way you play on the pitch, the position that you have, and what you have to do. It’s also off the pitch – don’t be late for the meetings, don’t be late for the meals. I think that’s really important because if everyone is on time and someone comes late, he should be punished”.

Fernandes added that he likes the new rules, especially the aspect of timekeeping because he likes to be on time.
Recall that the club recorded its lowest points tally in the history of the English Premier League last season but Bruno Fernandes believes that they have moved on and are now focused on the next season.
According to the Portugal star player, it was not the best season for them, and they know that the club demands more from them.
He added that there’s no past in football because everybody forgets it so quickly which is why they’re focused on succeeding with Erik ten Hag.
The Portuguese star revealed that they are training hard and looking forward to a better future as the manager demands a lot from his players. He also said that the manager will get any player out of the team if the player doesn’t do what he wants.
Meanwhile, Man United are having one of the best pre-season tours in Europe as they have won all three friendly games this month. The Red Devils are expected to continue their fine run in the English Premier League to qualify for the UEFA Champions League or even win the league.
