After last night’s defeat to Lyon in the Champions League Round of 16, the Italian Champions have parted ways with the ex-Chelsea boss.

Sarri was just recently hired from Chelsea who he led to Europa League success in Baku. He has endured a relatively tough start to life in Turin. Despite winning the league, Sarri delivered Juventus’ lowest points tally in five seasons as well as conceding the most goals by a Serie A winning team in 61 years.

The Italian still spoke about his future after the defeat and was apparently not bothered.

“I don’t think directors of a top-level club will make a decision based on one match,” Sarri said to Sky.

“They are going to evaluate the whole season. I find this kind of question offensive, but not towards me, it’s offensive towards the directors.

    “I have a contract, I’ll respect it and I don’t expect anything.”

The pressure was beginning to mount on him as he ended the season with two wins in the last nine games. The Champions League was to the best way to convince the Juve hierarchy that he was the best man for the job and he failed to deliver. After a series of ghastly accidents, yesterday’s defeat has proven to be fatal for Sarri who has now been sacked just moments ago.

    Possible options for replacement

Juventus will now begin their search for a new gaffer before football resumes back next month. There are a couple of decent options which could fit the bill

Mauricio Pochettino is still without a club after he was sacked by Tottenham Hotspur last season. The Argentine showed his UCL know-how in hist last full season at Spurs as he took them to the final and could be a viable option.

Another fair shout would be Antonio Conte. Conte is reportedly currently unhappy at Inter Milan after a series of fallout with board members. He could leave this summer and a homecoming back in Turin might just do both parties a world of good.
