Brazil President Lula da Silva has proposed a new rule to the Brazil national team over the selection of players for international duties.
Lula da Silva wants players who play in the Brazilian Serie A league to be entitled to a call-up, leaving out foreign players who play in other football leagues in America and Europe.
“No Garrincha or Romario in foreign teams; only a lot of young players who are not yet cracks.”.
“In Brazil, there are good players of the same quality as those abroad, so give opportunities to those who are here.”
The president is a famous supporter of the Corinthians football team in Brazil.
He has discussed about the performance of the Corinthians team on countless occasions. The Brazilian giant are currently facing relegation in the Brazil Serie A.
In addition, he also talks about the performance of the national team. The Brazil national team got the much-needed points against Chile in an attempt to qualify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup on October 11, 2024.
