A former Premier League striker, Bosko Balaban is in jail for failing to pay a financial support of £70,000 to his ex-wife, Ivan Radic.
The ex-Croatian international was sentenced to a conditional sentence of one year and four years of probation in 2021.
He failed to pay the total amount of the alimony debt in the two years that he was ordered to make the said payments.
There are reports in the capital of Croatia, Zagreb, that the former Aston Villa player wouldn’t escape a prison sentence even if he paid the overdue amount.
Balaban got married to Radic for more than a decade before they were divorced in 2017. Also, they had three children: two daughters and one son.
In the 2001s, Balaban was a very well-known striker at Aston Villa. He joined Aston Villa for a fee worth £5.8 million.
However, he couldn’t make any impact. Balaban made just eight appearances without scoring a single goal.
