Manchester United suffered a defeat to rivals Arsenal at the SoFi Stadium, despite scoring the game’s opening goal of the preseason affair through Rasmus Hojlund in the 10th minute.

Gabriel Jesus equalized for the Gunners in the 26th minute, before Gabriel Martinelli netted the crucial goal of the game for Mikel Arteta’s side 9 minutes before the expiration of normal time.

It was an entirely competitive affair at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California, USA, with both sides having their spell of dominance.

The two clubs are becoming familiar preseason oppositions, having also met last summer in the United States.

Manchester United were victors in their meeting last summer 2-0, with the Real Devils also securing a 5-3 win via penalties.

Interestingly, Arsenal came out victorious in regular time in the recent meeting, as indicated in an earlier paragraph, however, Mikel Arteta’s side couldn’t defeat the Old Trafford side through penalties.

Certainly, Arteta and Erik ten Hag would have seen areas where they could make needed alterations to their sides ahead of the 2024/25 season.

Rasmus Hojlund And Leny Yoro Injury

Unfortunately, Manchester United are fretting over injuries to two of their key players, with Rasmus Hojlund and Leny Yoro withdrawn in the first 45 due to a knock.

Hojlund was replaced by Hannibal Mejbri in the 16th minute, while Yoro, who was seen limping, was substituted for Rhys Bennett.

The English giants haven’t revealed anything regarding the severity of the injury to the public and fans of the Red Devils are hoping that the pair are in good shape.

Manchester City Vs AC Milan

Pep Guardiola’s side continued their woeful run in preseason with a 3-2 loss to Italian giants AC Milan.

The Cityzens had gone in front through Erling Haaland in the 19th minute, before a quick-fire double by AC Milan’s Lorenzo Colombo in the 30th and 34th minute respectively.

James McAtee equalized for Manchester City 5 minutes before the hour mark, before Marco Nasti scored the all-important goal for the Rossoneri in the 78th minute.

Manchester City supporters are displeased with the club’s output thus far in preseason and it remains to be seen if they can turn the corner in the coming matches.

The Cityzens had lost 4-3 to Scottish giants Celtic on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, before their recent defeat to AC Milan.

Pep Guardiola’s side still have Barcelona and Chelsea to play before bidding goodbye to preseason matches this summer.

Manchester City also have a date with neighbors Manchester United on August 10, 2024, in the Community Shield, the curtain raiser for the 2024/25 Premier League campaign.

It will be interesting to see how the Cityzens fare in the coming season, which is expected to be enthralling and intense.
