Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno has tied the knot with girlfriend of five years Sophie Christin. The German missed the ending stages of last season after a collision with Brighton’s Neal Maupay in a 2-1 defeat. However, he is expected to be back for the start of next season.

While on holiday for the season, he has walked Sophie Christin down the aisle. Leno broke the news on his Instagram account a few hours ago. He posted a photo with the caption “Mr & Mrs Leno💍❤”

Who is Sophie Christin?

Sophie often posts about her travels, having visited Paris, Ibiza, Italy, Greece and Croatia. She occasionally goes to football matches to watch her new husband in action on the field for Arsenal.

And when she’s not championing Leno for his performances off the pitch, she’s quick to tell him how wonderful he is off it. Sophie often shares glamorous snaps on holiday with the 6’3″ keeper, showing she’s settled into Wag-life well.

When did Bernd Leno and Sophie Christin start dating?

The 26-year-old goalkeeper began his relationship with his girlfriend, Sophie, on August 15, 2015. Sophie has since posted several snaps of the couple holidaying, including in Dubai, California, New York and Marbella.

They got married three days before what would have been their fifth anniversary together.

Leno continues to enjoy life in London

Leno was brought in by Unai Emery from Bayer Leverkusen in the summer of 2018. However, he was still competing with Petr Cech for a starting spot and the duo shared games between each other.

Fast forward a season later and the German is now one of the best shot-stoppers in the league. Cech’s departure meant that Leno became the undisputed number one and he hasn’t disappointed since then.

In the just-concluded season, he was one of the Gunners’ best player and ranked in the top five for most saves made in the Premier League last season despite missing a couple of games towards the end of the campaign.
