German professional sports team Fußball-Club Bayern München e. V., also known as FC Bayern Munich or simply Bayern, is based in Munich, Bavaria.
It is a professional men’s football team, which competes in the Bundesliga, the top division of the German football league system.
With a record 32 national championships, including 10 straight since 2013, 20 national cups, and countless European awards, Bayern is the most successful club in German football history.
Franz John was one of the eleven football players that created FC Bayern Munich in 1900.
Bayern won their first national championship in 1932, but the team was not included in the 1963 Bundesliga lineup.
When Franz Beckenbauer served as the club’s captain in the middle of the 1970s, it experienced its greatest success, winning the European Cup three times in a row (1974–1976).
Bayern has won six UEFA Champions League and European Cup championships overall (a German record), and it won its sixth title in the 2020 final as part of the Treble, after which it became just the second club in history to accomplish the feat twice.
Bayern is one of the most successful European clubs worldwide and the only German team to have won both international championships. Bayern has also won one UEFA Cup, one European Cup Winners’ Cup, two UEFA Super Cups, two FIFA Club World Cups, and two Intercontinental Cups.
Five Ballon d’Or trophies, two Best FIFA Men’s Player awards, four European Golden Shoe awards, three UEFA Men’s Player of the Year awards, and the UEFA Club Footballer of the Year have all been won by Bayern players.
FC Bayern Munich
Bayern Munich became just the second club to win the “sextuple” (winning the League Cup, and Champions League in one season followed by the Domestic Supercup, UEFA Supercup, and Club World Cup in the same season) or all trophies that a club competes for in a specific calendar year.
Bayern Munich is the only German club to have won all three of UEFA’s major club competitions. They are one of only five clubs to do so.
Bayern Munich is currently rated #1 in the UEFA club rankings as of May 2022.
The team has had long-standing rivalry with 1. FC Nürnberg, 1860 Munich, and Borussia Dortmund since the mid-1990s.
Bayern has held its home matches at the Allianz Arena since the start of the 2005–06 season.
The team had previously spent 33 years competing at Munich’s Olympiastadion.
The team’s colors are red and white, while the crest features the Bavarian flag in white and blue.
With a valuation of €634.1 million in 2021, Bayern Munich will be the largest sports club in Germany and the third-highest-earning football club in the world, behind FC Barcelona and Real Madrid.
Bayern had 4,499 officially registered fan clubs with over 350,000 members as of November 2019 in addition to its 293,000 official members.
With more than 1,100 active members, the club also features departments for senior football, chess, handball, basketball, gymnastics, bowling, and table tennis.
Bayern Munich’s Jersey
The players of the German record champions FC Bayern will wear a dark grey kit from partner adidas with red stripes and a red club emblem in their uniforms. With this shirt, FC Bayern has all the trump cards in their hands — or rather, on their back.
The acorn (club), grass (spade), heart (diamonds), and bells (club) emblems from the card games “Schafkopf,” which originated in Bavaria, are included into the jersey’s design.
The “Mia San Mia” inscription is displayed on the back of the neck, much like on the home shirt.
Thomas Müller, who is equally skilled at playing cards as he is at playing football, had high praise for the uniform: “With a jersey like this, the Bayern heart comes up trumps.”
All of the jersey’s materials are recycled polyester. The FC Bayern Online Store, as well as the adidas Online Shop, are the only places where it is currently sold exclusively.
Visit fcbayern.com and adidas.en/football for additional details.
The first 15,000 supporters to buy a Champions League jersey will also get a free Schafkopf game, a unique Thomas Müller edition, as a bonus, just while supplies last.

When Last Did Bayern Munich Win Champions League?
Bayern Munich has always been regarded as one of the top clubs in Europe, routinely dominating both the domestic and international scenes.
A fantastic treble-winning season culminated in their last Champions League victory in 2020, when they defeated Paris Saint-Germain 1-0 in the championship game.
How Many Champions League Have Bayern Munich Won?
Bayern Munich, along with Liverpool, are among the top teams in the competition with six victories. However, they are one win behind AC Milan in second place and seven off Real Madrid, the league’s undisputed leader.
Their most recent victory came two years ago when Kingsley Coman’s goal helped them defeat PSG 1-0 in the championship game.
Between the 1973–74 and 1975–76 seasons, they were able to win three consecutive Champions League championships.
However, they have also lost, most famously in the 1998–99 championship game when Manchester United scored twice in stoppage time to win in Barcelona.
Their following victory came in the 2000–01 campaign when they defeated Valencia on penalties.
In 2009, they made it to the final but fell short to Jose Mourinho’s treble-winning Inter.
The next heartbreaking defeat came in 2012, this time to Chelsea. Despite dominating the match the entire time, they lost on penalties, and it happened on their own field.
