As part of the club’s agreement with Spotify, Barcelona are promoting the logos of some selected artists on the Spotify platform.
The Blaugrana will wear a home jersey featuring the logo of one of the ablums of Catalan singer Rosalia in their LaLiga clash with domestic rivals Real Madrid on 19 March.
The Catalan singer will be the second artist to make it to the T-shirt of the La Liga giants as part of the deal the club brokered with Spotify amid their dwindling financial fortunes.
The Logo of Rosalia will be stamped on the front of the home shirt of the Catalan club as they prepare to host Real Madrid in a crunch LaLiga tie that may ultimately decide the destination of the 2022/23 LaLiga trophy.
According to reports, Spotify would have opted for another logo on the shirt of Barcelona in the first El-Clasico this season, but had to go for Drake Owl’s logo.
Drake reportedly became the first artist in the globe to hit a record number of streams on the Spotify platform, hitting a record 50billion streams.
Now, the music streaming platform is ready to float the logo of Rosalia in the shirts of Blaugrana as part of their streaming service agreement to bring innovation into football and as well target a new global audience for their music streaming services.
There are other artists who are also scheduled to have their logo on Barcelona T-shirts as the season progresses.
However, the tech company is apparently targeting top artists in crucial games that may likely command more audience.
Drake’s Owl logo was the first Spotify has used so far this season and Rosalia’s will be the second. Other artists are reportedly lined up to be featured, Catalan radio Rac1 reported.
Rosalia’s logo, set to be used on the second El-Clasico on March 19, is the logo of the musician’s third studio album Motomami.
19 March will make it one year since Rosalia released the album and Spotify has chosen to feature the logo to mark the first anniversary of the release of the album.
Rosalia, 30, was born and raised in Spain. Particularly, she is a Catalan by birth and was born in the City of the European giants.
She has been tipped as the finest and most famous of Spain’s music stars, bagging multiple awards and honors throughout her music career.
She has won the world’s most famous music awards – the Grammys – two times and has made Forbes’ Spain’s most influential women list.
Barcelona and Spotify officially broker a deal in June last year following the club’s financial crisis. The deal will see Spotify sponsor the club’s senior shirts for the next four seasons, as well as on the kits of the club’s pro academies.
Camp Nou Stadium has also been renamed as Spotify Camp Nou as part of the deal.
Barcelona have beaten their financial woes to emerge LaLiga leaders and are in pole position to win the title. They are are currently nine-point clear of LaLiga rivals Real Madrid.
A win on 19 March against the Carlo-Ancelotti led team may likely end the debate on who will win the LaLiga this season.
