Bayern Munich winger, Thomas Muller has said that Barcelona were very relaxed’ before they were thumped 8-2 in Champions League quarter-final.

Muller was amongst the goalscorer of the encounter with his opening goal coming in the 8th minute. He also claimed that Barcelona were laid-back before the loss as they came out to warm up ten minutes after Bayern Munich.

The 30-year-old recorded a brace during their demolition in Lisbon before going past Lyon and Paris Saint-Germaine to win the title. Other goalscorers in the rout include Ivan Perisic, Serge Gnabry, Joshua Kimmich, Robert Lewandowski, and Phillipe Coutinho.

The 30-year-old as claimed by the Suns hinted that Bayern’s famous victory over Barcelona might have been aided by the Spanish side’s ‘very relaxed’ warm up.

“I congratulate our coach (Hansi Flick). Just one example – we had been warming up for ten minutes when Barcelona walked out onto the field to warm up.

‘They were very relaxed. That doesn’t have to mean anything. The match could have ended differently, but I think it turned out that we were very hungry.”

Bayern Munich has now tied Liverpool and AC Milan on the number of Champions League trophies won. The three clubs have now won the competition six times respectively.

After the defeat, Quique Setien lost his job and Lionel Messi tendered transfer request. The former Real Betis manager was replaced by Ronald Koeman while sporting director Eric Abidal also left the club.

It was reported that Messi is frustrated with events at the club. He had recently asked his representatives to set up a meeting with the board to discuss an amicable exit from the club.

The futures of other star players including Luis Suarez and Gerard Pique also look to be on the ropes as Koeman has reportedly told them to look for new adventures.

The club’s president, Josep Bartomeu has said he will resign if Messi assured that he won’t living the club.

This is the third time that Messi has said he will be living the Catalan giant. All will be on the look out to know what will come up in few days.
