Barcelona presidential candidate, Emili Rousaud while presenting his candidacy on Thursday has promised to bring two top players to Camp Nou and one of them will be Neymar.

Neymar had left Barca to join PSG for 222m Euros to become world’s most expensive player. The Brazilian had made attempt last season to return to Camp Nou and the deal failed to materialize.

The former board member gave some hints of what he intends to do if he is elected as president of the Azugrana entity.

Emili Rousaud is one of the ten presidential candidate at Barcelona

“We will sign two top players, one of them is Neymar. We are working to bring him back to Barcelona … if he withdraws the demands he has against the club.

“The other signing”We hope to be able to announce shortly the name of the other franchise player that we want to bring. It will not leave anyone indifferent. We have a direct line with the player,” he stated.

Barcelona could rename home Stadium as Camp Nou – Leo Messi

He further revealed that if elected, he intends to hold a referendum if the Camp Nou should be renamed after the team’s talisman.

Messi’s relationship with the club had gone strain after tendering a transfer request last summer.

He was unable to leave for free because he failed to activate the clause on his contract, leaving clubs linked with him to pay his buyout clause which amounted to over 600m Euros.

In order not to be involved in a legal battle with the club he loved, Messi decided to stay and run down his contract.

After the resignation of Josep Bartomeu’s board, several candidates have presented their manifestos with special attention on Messi as they are all looking for a way or the other to retain the club’s all-time highest goalscorer.

It is believed that Messi will look at those coming on board before making his decision, with about eight months left on his current deal.

“We will hold a referendum for the stadium to be renamed Camp Nou – Leo Messi.

“If we win, we want to count on Xavi, Iniesta and Puyol and establish a firm bond with the club, the team and La Masía”, he added.

His further plan for the Catalan club is to rebuild the team and its econonomy. Barcelona is currently owing over 600m Euros as debt.

“I do this out of enthusiasm, commitment, and experience. I want to rebuild the team, the club, and the economy. I will leave my skin to make Barça, once again, the best team in the world. I have known the house for five years and have business experience. I founded Factor Energía from scratch.”

Barcelona election is scheduled for January. By then, it will be clear about where the future of the club lies.
